The Schacht Center offers free 和 confidential individual consultations to School for Social Work students. Students may receive up to five individual sessions during the summer academic session, subject to availability 和 clinical recommendations. The sessions are an opportunity to address matters of personal concern as you participate in your professional training 和 are not a substitute for ongoing clinical treatment.

Desiree is a licensed independent multiracial 和 multiethnic clinical social worker 和 a certified EMDR therapist. She graduated from the Smith College School for Social Work in 2011. Her psychotherapeutic approach is informed by sensorimotor psychotherapy, developmental dyadic psychotherapy, 认知行为治疗, 印度生物技术部, ego-state psychotherapy, EMDR 和 gender affirming care 和 more. Desiree has worked in many different roles 和 settings in community mental health centers, as well as integrated behavioral health through Boston Children’s Hospital, to working in full time private practice (since 2014). Desiree has been a member of the western Massachusetts EMDR steering committee since 2018. She has a lot of experience working with individuals, children 和 families working in the service of healing intergenerational trauma, 创伤后应激障碍, 和 C-创伤后应激障碍 as well as a demonstrated passion 和 dedication to social justice with a lifelong commitment to working in the service of dismantling systems of oppression that perpetuate ableist attitudinal beliefs within the realm of serving neuro-diverse learners. She is also a mother, an artist 和 a fiddler, 和 has a deep affinity for her beloved cat Vessela.
