Eligibility

Reporting an Accident

如果你在工作中受伤,或者在执行学院要求的与工作相关的职能时受伤, 你必须尽快将事故报告给你的主管,并填写一份报告 First Report of Job-Related Accident form within 24 hours.

Reimbursement for Medical Treatment

如果保险公司或马萨诸塞州工业事故部门确定你有资格获得工人赔偿, 保险公司将报销你接受的任何必要的医疗和护理费用.

如果你因工伤在医院接受治疗, doctor's office, or health center, 你应该通知服务提供商,工伤与工作有关,并要求将所有的服务账单寄给人力资源部.  因工伤而产生的医疗费用或账单或处方不应提交给您的医疗保险公司.

Workers' Compensation Leave

Should a work-related injury prevent you from working, 根据FMLA和MA PFML,您可能有资格根据自己的严重健康状况休假.  任何工伤假期将与所有其他适用的假期同时运行, including FMLA and MA PFML.

Reimbursement for Lost Wages

Should your injury result in time off from work, 你可能有资格获得工人补偿福利,以补偿你损失的工资. 根据法律规定,保险公司的赔付额大约是你每周平均收入的60%(加上家属津贴),最高赔付额可能会有所变化. Weekly disability payments are nontaxable.

Supplemental payments

Eligibility for Paid Time Off and 好处

During the period you receive workers' compensation benefits, 您将继续有资格累积带薪休假如下:

  • you will accrue personal time;

健康, Dental, Life, and LTD Insurance Plans

You continue to receive employee benefits for up to six months, subject to the terms of the benefit plan documents. During this time, 学校将继续为你的保险支付正常份额的保费,你将收到你的那部分费用的账单. 您必须在账单日期后30天内支付您的保费份额,以确保继续承保.  

If you are on workers' compensation for longer than six months, you are expected to apply for long-term disability (LTD) insurance; if your LTD application is approved, your benefits may continue under the terms of that plan.  

If you do not qualify for LTD leave after six months, 你可以选择参加COBRA下的健康和牙科计划, 你可以选择转投非团体人寿和有限责任保险.  

While receiving workers’ compensation benefits, 您的人寿保险和有限责任保险将继续按工伤假开始时的工资水平执行.

Application Procedures

Return to Work Certification
